St. Rita's Retreat Center Festival of Praise Concert General Information
Concert Time: Concerts are on most Sunday's during the Summer from 6 to 7:30 PM. We recommend you come up early to get a good place to park,sit and not be rushed as to enjoy the peacefulness and beauty of St. Rita's. Maps of the facilities & trails are available at the grotto entrance. St. Rita Retreat Center is situated on 62 acres? and has three (3) miles of short looped hiking trails with benches scripture stones and areas for prayer and reflection. Always stay on the lawn or trails. Children are not allowed to hike on the trails without close adult supervision. Parking:Parking is permitted on any of the three paved parking lots on the grounds. Parking attendants (users) will direct you as to where you may or may not park. Parking is NOT PERMITTED in the upper area by the main building. Over flow parking will be just off the entry and back access roads and in the lower field again follow the parking attendants instructions.Tell the attendant if you have dificulty walking or need to be in the Handicap Parking area. Handicap parking is located and reserved on the entire lower paved parking lot just out side of the Sacred Grotto Amphatheater. Restroom:A porta-potti restroom is available outside the Grotto entrance. Parents should always accompany their children to and from the restroom. Wheel Chair accesible restroom: Facilities in the dining hall building are wheel chair accessible. Seating:Total capacity of the amphitheater is about 250 people. Patrons may bring and spread a blanket or low-rise backrest / sand chair in the front center sections of the amphitheater. Lawn chairs are not allowed in blanket areas at any time. Chairs with back rests, etc. are allowed in blanket seating areas only if the back legs are four (4) inches or less in length. Back rests may not exceed shoulder height. Space is available for lawn chairs on the sides and behind the blanket seating area. Smoking:Smoking is not permitted any where inside the Sacred Grotto. Smoking is allowed in the designated area outside of the grotto entrance by the shed opposite the restroom. Safety:First Aid kit is available at the information table located near the entrance of the amphitheater. Always stay on the lawn or trails. Pets:Dogs are allowed on the grounds and at the concerts. They must always be on a leash and kept quiet. The owners must always clean up after their pet ASAP. Families:St. Rita's welcomes and encourages families to enjoy the Festival of Praise Concerts and to hike the trails. As beautiful as St. Rita's is it has many possible Hazards if one is not aware of them such as poison oak sharp rocks and an occasional snake. PLEASE accompany your children to restrooms and never let them climb on or handle rocks or stones. Children should always be on the lawn area and never left to run off alone. Children should be under close adult supervision at ALL TIMES. Dress:For your comfort and convenience, a light wrap is recommended for cooler evenings, we also recommend, sun glasses, sunscreen and possibly a hat. Accessibility / Wheelchair seating:Pathways are of bark chips and pebbled rock although not ideal most are wheelchair accessible.Restroom facilities in the Main building are wheel chair accessible. Trash:Help St. Rita?s stay beautiful by placing any trash in the trash receptacle located by the restroom outside the entrance of the grotto.
Concessions: MAMMA RITA'S at the GROTTO provides a variety of good food and drink at great prices before, during and after the concerts, Your concession purchases go to help St. Rita's. Labyrinth:The Labyrinth is a place of prayer and is reserved for that purpose. It will be closed to patrons during the concert, (it is not wheelchair accessible). Children should never be in the Labyrinth area without an adult. Never move the stones on the pathway. Stay on the lawn area for the concerts. Courtesy:Please limit any talking, keeping your conversations down during the service. Driving:When driving up our driveway and again when leaving please drive slowly.
